Harley Davidson Motor Company has shut down production of Buell motorcycles, effective immediately. Erik Buell, looking quite haggard, is shown on a video at the Buell website explaining the decision and encouraging people to buy a Buell before they're all gone. Click the image of Erik to go to the Buell website and watch the video. I feel for Erik Buell. His life's dream was to build a competitive American sportbike, and just as he achieved his dream, Harley yanks the rug out from under him. I hope he lands on his feet and continues to build innovative American sportbikes. |

I'm finalizing plans for a solo motorcycle trip to Oshkosh, mecca for general aviation. Click here to go to Google Maps and see an interactive version of the map that allows you to zoom in for more specifics. I'm looking for suggestions on routes and restaurants, anyone have a favorite road along the way, or a killer diner recommendation? I'll send a limited-edition moto.aero t-shirt to anyone who gives me a suggestion (once I get back from the trip). Whenever that may be! Follow the trip here at moto.aero, or via updates on Facebook and Twitter. If I'm going to be passing near you, or if you're going to be at Oshkosh, send me a note and we can grab a frosty beverage! Thanks, Mike |

Here's a series of photos from Flickr on how to make a variable speed Harbor Freight oscillating tool.
The main modification was to add a variable resistor to make the oscillating tool variable speed, but the author also shows a modified putty knife attachment that he made for his tool. As I wrote in my earlier article comparing oscillating tools, |
